This is a comparison of published 2027 models, not laboratory testing or a measured ranking of distance. The best choice depends on your league rules, preferred balance and current bat feel. Check the exact bat marking with your league or tournament before buying.
The reference prices below are US-dollar listings checked in October 2026. They are not TeamTone sale prices, Canadian quotes or guarantees of current inventory.

DeMarini Magnum Signature Vanilla Gorilla

A 12.5-inch end-loaded APC composite barrel and 4.One composite handle make this the short-barrel, pronounced-load option in this group. Its two-piece construction differs from the one-piece Island Kings.
Compare it if you already like an end load and want a shorter barrel profile. If your current bat feels heavy through the zone, try a balanced model alongside it before buying.
DeMarini Stadium End Load

The Stadium uses a 13-inch APC composite barrel, a stiff 4.One composite handle and an end-loaded swing profile. It is a two-piece USSSA slowpitch model.
Compare it with the Vanilla Gorilla to feel how the 13-inch versus 12.5-inch barrel profile changes your timing; keep the listed weight as close as possible.
DeMarini El Mero Mero

This is the balanced 13-inch slowpitch comparison point. It pairs an APC composite barrel with a ZnX alloy handle rather than the 4.One composite handle used by several other DeMarini models here.
Choose it for a side-by-side test when a loaded bat feels slow or when you want a more neutral starting feel. Balanced does not mean automatically better for contact; the swing has to suit the player.
DeMarini Island Kings

The Island Kings brings a 13-inch end-loaded APC composite barrel into a one-piece frame. That construction gives a useful contrast to the two-piece Stadium at a similar barrel length and load description.
Try it if you prefer a more direct one-piece feel. Do not infer a measurable distance advantage from construction alone.
DeMarini Jeremy Yates Twisted Mistress

The Jeremy Yates signature version is a 13-inch end-loaded two-piece composite model with a 4.One handle. The pictured signature model is distinct from the non-signature Twisted Mistress mid-load listing; check the model number when comparing prices.
Compare this signature option with Stadium at the same listed weight to isolate what you actually prefer about the barrel feel.
Fastpitch pick: Louisville Slugger Kryo2 (-10)

This is a fastpitch bat, not a slowpitch alternative. The balanced -10 Kryo2 uses a two-piece composite construction, GO-EX+ barrel system, VTX connection and XPND end cap. The barrel diameter is 2¼ inches; that number is not a 13-inch barrel-length specification.
It belongs on the shortlist only for a player whose fastpitch league accepts its exact certification. Compare the chosen length and drop against the player’s current bat.
Important exclusion: Easton DUB Dark Side

The 2027 DUB Dark Side is a USSSA baseball bat with a 2¾-inch barrel diameter and baseball weight drops. It is included here because the supplied shortlist named it, but it should not be recommended or purchased for USSSA softball.
“USSSA” by itself is not enough: baseball, fastpitch and slowpitch have different bats and equipment rules. Confirm the sport and league stamp on the exact model.
How to choose between the softball models
First separate fastpitch from slowpitch and confirm the tournament’s current stamp requirement. Next record the bat you already use: its weight, balance and what feels good or awkward. Compare a balanced and loaded slowpitch bat at similar listed weights, then compare one-piece and two-piece feel if construction matters to you.
For Canadian leagues, check the organizer’s equipment list rather than assuming a USSSA stamp is accepted everywhere. TeamTone’s Bat Fit Finder can narrow a starting comparison, but the league remains the authority for eligibility.
